LEPC
The November 21, 2024 meeting has been moved to the upstairs of the WFD located at 21 Pearl Street. Please get in touch with TCDES if you have any questions.
The LEPC is the Local Emergency Planning Committee of Tioga County. The group was formed in 1988 as a result of the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986 (SARA, Title III), with the purpose of serving as a resource for citizens regarding chemicals in Tioga County, while ensuring that all responsibilities outlined in SARA Title III are fulfilled. The group is comprised of representatives from private industry, local, state and federal government agencies, and community members.
The LEPC meets monthly to implement various preparedness measures for hazardous materials (HAZMAT) incidents. They do this by reviewing or funding measures which support training & exercises for the prevention, protection, & mitigation of, response to, and recovery from hazmat incidents. Questions can be directed to the LEPC Secretary at emergencyservices@tiogacountypa.us
